Most flu infections occur in January and February. The Coos County Health Department has free flu vaccine available for children ages 6 months to 18 years who do not have insurance. Adult flu shots paid by cash or check are discounted to the price of $10. The Health Department will also accept Oregon Health Plan, Medicare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Oregon, and Pacific Source insurance.
