Multiculturalism Taught Through Film At SOCC February 28th


Brian C. Johnson, a  speaker and author will engage an audience about multiculturalism through the presentation of a film entitled “REEL Diversity.” Participants will laugh and remember some of their favorite movies, and from there, an interactive keynote can begin  This is a free event and is open to the public at 7pm on Tuesday, February 28th at the Hales Performing Arts Center on the  SOCC campus. This speaker was re-scheduled due to the snow day that closed area schools in mid-January.  Brian is a faculty member of Bloomsburg University and is the director of the Frederick Douglass Institute for Academic Excellence. He is the co-author of Reel Diversity: A Teacher’s Sourcebook (2008), winner of the 2009 Phillip Chinn Book Award by the National Association for Multicultural Education.  For more information call  541-888-7316.
