Tsunami Awareness Events This Weekend at North Bend Library

Governor John Kitzhaber has declared March Tsunami Awareness Month in Oregon. Tsunami Outreach Oregon is holding two events this weekend at the North Bend Library. Saturday March 10 in the afternoon at 2:00 pm its Tsunami Kids featuring a Crab that teaches kids about tsunamis. Kids ages 6 to 11 can win prizes and there will be a story time about Tsunami Elephants read by Mike The Bear and the Coquille oral history about tsunamis and earthquakes as told by Don Ivy. Then on Sunday March 11 at 2:00 pm it is a more serious event as Sunday is the one year anniversary of the devastating Japan quake and tsunami. The North Bend Library will be showing the National Geographic Documentary: Witness, The Japan Disaster.
