Gems And Minerals On Display July 20th in Reedsport


The Lower Umpqua Gem and Lapidary Society is hosting its Annual Gem and Mineral Show, “Treasures From the Earth”, July 20-22, at Reedsport. There will be jewelry, gem and mineral dealers, demonstrators, displays of gems and minerals, door prizes, silent auctions. Demonstrations include making cabochons, wire wrapped jewelry, and glass bead making. Kid’s activities includes “turn me over rocks” and a ball toss. Admission is free, with donations gladly accepted. The show will be held Friday 10am-5 pm, Saturday 10am-5 pm, and Sunday 10am-4 pm, at the Reedsport Community Center, 451 Winchester Avenue. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Old Timer’s Club members will meet for breakfast on Sunday at 7:30 at the Waterfront.
