Police Ask For Public’s Help In Ambill Case

Coos County Police are asking for help from the public in the continuing investigation into the death of David M. Barker. The suspect, Ronald Wayne Ambill is believed to have left the North Bend area sometime after 6pm on July 16th, arriving in Newport, where he turned himself to police on July 18th, in the case of the death of David Barker. Ambill was not in possession of a vehicle and police believe he hitchhiked to Newport via Winchester Bay and Reedsport on July 17th. Police wish to speak with anyone who saw Ambill between July 16th and 18th, specifically, anyone who may have given him a ride in that time. Ambill is described as a white adult male, 5′ 11″, approximately 180 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information or gave him a ride is asked to call the North Bend Police.
