Dolphin Players Look To Community For Time, Donations


The Dolphin Players formed in 1979 to produce live theatre in Coos Bay. Their most recent production was The Guys, in honor of 9-11. They purchased the former Scottish Rite Temple at 580 Newmark in Empire, which was formerly the Sunset Theatre, to give the community quality productions. They have presented productions of That Championship Season, Inherit The Wind, The Road To Mecca and On Golden Pond amoung many others. The down payment for the building was donated and the City of Coos Bay has given the group a grant to pay for ADA renovations.

More money will be needed for lighting, furnishing the lobby, repairing the roof and more. The group also needs volunteers for repairs, management and more. Donations are also needed. If you would like to participate, call 541-808-2611, or visit thedolphinplayers.webs.com for more information.
