Kitzhaber Orders Flags Flown Half-Staff Honoring Armstrong


Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber, under a proclamation by President Obama, has ordered all flags be flown at half-staff today. The President stated in a press release, “As a mark of respect for the memory of Neil Armstrong, I hereby order that the flag of the United States be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds until sunset. This includes all military facilities, naval vessels and stations.” A private service will be held for Mr. Armstrong today.
