Emergency Preparedness: Mass Casualty Exercise

On September 26th, Emergency Response Agencies will be participating in a Full Scale Mass Casualty Exercise at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport. The scenario is an airbus 319 charter with 52 passengers has crashed during takeoff due to a mechanical failure.

Volunteer Role: Volunteers are needed to play victims. Volunteers will be triaged by first responders and transported to Bay Area Hospital via ambulance, where they will receive further treatment. Once volunteers have been processed by the hospital, they will be transported back to the airport.

Time: 5:00pm to approximately 9:00pm

Volunteers will need to report to the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport at 5:00pm where they will sign in, receive a briefing and be placed into position. The exercise will start promptly at 6:00pm. The length of time a volunteer is needed during the exercise will depend on when they are triaged, transported, and their simulated injuries; you may not be released directly at 9:00pm, depending on the hospital’s ability to process you.

If you are interested in volunteering for this exercise, please register with:
