Zombies will be helping to fight cancer in mid-October in Coos Bay. The first ever Coffin Races will be held on Saturday, October 13th during the ZombieFest fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. In this event, each team will build a ‘coffin’ with a person riding (at least 120 pounds) inside while 4-6 ‘pallbearers’ will carry and race with the coffin to the finish line. Teams will consist of 5 to 8 people.

Registration fee is $35 and goes directly to the American Cancer Society and each participant must complete registration forms by the day of the event. Rules and registration forms can be found at www.coosbayzombiefest.com or by calling Nicole Weeks at 916-715-7539 for more information. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the fastest teams to cross the finish line. There will also be prizes awarded for best theme, and best decorated coffin.
