Flu Shot Clinics For Uninsured Oregonians
Flu season is here and many have found themselves without the resources to get vaccinated. Oregon Coast Community Action has partnered with Walgreens Pharmacy to make sure underserved individuals on the South Coast are getting the protection they need to stay healthy this winter.
ORCCA and Walgreens have set up free flu shot clinics–shots will be administered on the 2nd floor of ORCCA’s Child and Family Resource Center, at 1855 Thomas Avenue in Coos Bay on the following dates:
Thursday, October 25 10am – 1pm
Thursday, November 8 1pm – 4pm
Thursday November 15 10am – 1pm
It is important to get vaccinated annually, as the strains of the virus can change every year. The flu vaccine can provide protection for up to a year, and will prevent the spread of the seasonal flu, which can lead to much more serious health complications. Getting a flu shot is the best preventative method for avoiding the flu!
Oregon Coast Community Action is a non-profit network of programs that help feed, house, warm and educate the communities of the South Coast. For information about ORCCA or the clinics, call 541-435-7080 or learn more at www.orcca.us.
