ODOT’s North Bend Construction Postponed

K-DOCK 92.9

Representatives from the Oregon Department of Transportation recently visited businesses in North Bend and received feedback regarding ODOT’s paving and sidewalk projects.

Many concerns were voiced that last summer’s sidewalk construction impacted their sales and were concerned that the upcoming planned work in November may impact holiday shopping.

ODOT Public Affairs Director Don Latham, shared those concerns with project managers and the contractor. They have decided to postpone the start of the sidewalk work in downtown North Bend until January 1st, 2013.

Other concerns were brought up about unfinished sidewalks at intersections along Sherman Avenue. ODOT management understood that construction can impact businesses and voiced their desire to keep those to a minimum wherever possible.
