A Myrtle Point man had to be extricated from the delivery van he was driving on the Powers Highway. According to the Coos County Sheriff’s office, yesterday morning 55 year-old James Waterman was driving a tractor trailer hauling a Thunderbird Log Loader. As the trailer entered a long curve the log loader arm broke free from the locking pin and swung into oncoming traffic hitting the windshield and cab of an Econoline Van driven by 63 year-old Michael Delyria of Myrtle Point. Delyria was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The investigation into the crash is continuing by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
