Over 43 Million To Travel Over Holiday Period

The AAA forecasts that 43.6 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during this Thanksgiving holiday weekend, an increase of 0.7 percent over the 43.3 million people who traveled one year ago. The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, November 21st to Sunday, November 25th.

Here are some quick facts about Thanksgiving travel:

—–43.6 million –the number of total travelers nationally during this holiday period, an increase of 0.7 percent over last year

—–7.3 million – the number of Thanksgiving travelers in the Pacific area, an increase of 0.6 percent compared to 2011.

——Busiest travel day is today, Wednesday, November 21st and it is predicted that 45 percent will leave today.
