Bad Road Conditions Update

K-DOCK 92.9

ODOT: SW Oregon: The North Umpqua Highway (Oregon 138E) is closed in Douglas County near Tokatee (milepost 52), following a landslide that has pushed an estimated 400 yards of material on the highway. ODOT estimates it will have a lane open before noon today. An update will be sent when the highway reopens. The latest road conditions are available on TripCheck.com and by phone (511 or 800-977-6368).

Earlier this morning, a 100-foot section of Powers Highway (Oregon 542) in Coos County collapsed into the South Fork Coquille River (milepost 12) this morning. One lane is open and traffic is moving. Motorists should expect brief delays as flaggers provide traffic control. The southbound lane collapsed an estimated 35 feet on the river’s side. This location is roughly halfway from Oregon 42 to the City of Powers. No traffic updates are expected until Monday.

ODOT maintenance crews are also cleaning up debris from high water events along Oregon 42S and U.S. 101 in Coos County. All motorists are advised to drive with caution and watch for debris along the highways. Clean-up efforts will continue through Sunday.
