The Coos Bay man who was arrested for brandishing a rifle at police appeared in Coos County Circuit Court. Charles Wayne Crum was wounded by officers after presenting himself in the doorway of a trailer, holding a weapon during the incident that occurred at the end of Marple Lane in Bandon on December 25th. Investigators have learned the weapon in Crumb’s possession was a pellet rifle.

Crum appeared in court on December 26th on two different charges that resulted in the two misdemeanor warrants being issued for his arrest; one for Resisting Arrest where Crum had previously pled guilty to the charge, but then failed to appear for sentencing. The second case is a charge of Second Degree Failure To Appear which was filed when Crum failed to appear for sentencing on the charge of Resisting Arrest. Judge Martin Stone has set security at $10,000 and the District Attorneys office will release more information when the investigation is complete.
