Haggis, Kilts, All Things Scottish To Celebrate Robert Burns

It’s the two-week countdown for a celebration of the life of Robert Burns in North Bend!

The Coastal Celtic Society presents its 11th annual Scottish Burns Night Celebration at the Mill Casino. It’s happening on Saturday, February 2nd with social hour begining at 5pm. But it is rapidly approaching sold-out status. The few remaining tickets can be purchased at the hotel’s gift shop, or by calling 1-800-953-4800 (choose option nine on the phone menu).

Burns Night is celebrated annually by Scots around the world in memory of Robert Burns (1759-1796), Scotland’s national poet and songwriter, perhaps best known world-wide for the song “Auld Lang Syne”. The February 2nd celebration will be rich with traditional ceremony including the piping in of the Haggis, accompanied by kilted swordsmen honor guard, Burns’ Ode to the Haggis, Burns’ Selkirk Grace, Address to the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns, Toast to the Lasses & Reply to the Laddies, Singing of Auld Lang Syne at Evening’s End (audience participation)

Scottish Attire suggested but not required.

The event includes entertainment by bagpipers, harpists, guitarists, and fiddlers. The banquet includes traditional Scottish dishes like Tatties and Neeps, Cock-a-Leekie Soup, Haggis, and Trifle dessert, as well as Chicken in the Heather and top Sirloin.
