Homeless Survey Today In Coos And Curry Counties

K-DOCK 92.9

The annual ‘Point In Time Homeless Count’ is set to take place throughout Coos and Curry counties today. The survey is being organized by Oregon Coast Community Action in collaboration with Neighbors In Need and the Green Spot. It will help to determine the funding and resources needed for homeless relief and outreach.

The results of today’s count will provide information to help policymakers and agencies understand the areas that are most in need. During the count, volunteers will have emergency blankets and dog food available for individuals and families who need it. The Green Spot will also be offering ‘stone soup’ meals throughout the day and clothes for any individuals in need. The Point In Time Homeless Count will be conducted by ORCCA staff, Neighbors In Need members, and volunteers in the community. Learn more about Oregon Coast Community Action; visit www.orcca.us.
