Rotary Club Awarded Over $6,000 To Organizations To Serve Youth
The Coos Bay North Bend Rotary Club has awarded over $6,000.00 to local organizations that serve youth, and meet the needs of the greater Bay area and Coos County. Grants will be used to enhance youth participation in arts and culture, provide equipment for building youth leadership skills, and meet basic community needs.
EXAMPLES:
Start Making a Reader Today’s SMART Reading Program will get $1,000 to purchase books to promote reading proficiency in the schools.
ORCO Arts for Youth provides hands-on leadership and empowerment; $900 will purchase laptop computers for youth to write grants, research products and create power point presentations.

Rotary club members donate goods and services to hold an annual auction, and carry out programs such as wood cutting to raise funds that are used for local and international projects. Community Benefit grants are provided to enrich individuals, families and the community. A committee made up of Rotary members selects grants to be awarded based upon the criteria and funding available.
The Coos Bay North Bend Rotary Club fosters service in business and community life. The Club has been active in the Bay area for 91 years, chartered in March of 1922.
