Water Board Issues Boil Order–List Of Affected Areas

As of Sunday afternoon, Pacific Power reported that approximately 5, 850 customers, including many in the Eastside area, were without electricity. Crews went to work on were on scene to make repairs, with the estimated time of restoration to be approximately at 6pm. Because of the power outage, the Coos Bay/North Bend Water Board reports there was a loss of water service to a number of customers in both the city of Coos Bay and to the county. As a result of low to no water pressure, water board personnel will be collecting samples on Monday to assess the water quality. Until the testing confirms satisfactory water quality, a precautionary boil order will be in effect.

Here is a listing of areas affected by the boil order:

–Market Avenue west of North 5th Street

–Minnesota Avenue west of 14th Street South

–California Avenue including 15th to 22nd Street west of Southwest Boulevard

–Pennsylvania and Iowa Avenues west of Pennsylvania Place

–Sierra Road, Shriner’s Road and Woodruff Lane east of Bright’s Mill Road

–Shoshone Lane and karl Road west of Flagstff Road

When satisfactory water quality is confirmed, the boil order will be lifted.
