Learn how to swing! The Clambake Jazz Festival has teamed up with the USA Dance organization to offer FREE SWING DANCE LESSON’s on Tuesday, February 26th and Thursday, February 28th, from 6p-8p. It will be held upstairs at the Eagles Lodge at 568 South 2nd Street in Coos Bay. Open to the public, no partner necessary. Beginners will learn the basics of East Coast Swing and for the more experienced dancer learn an additional move each night.

Once again, in addition to the festival line-up, the Clambake Jazz Festival is offering special events to coincide with the arrival of thousands of out-of-town visitors. Starting with the Warm-up Party on Thursday, March 7th, at 7pm, in the Salmon Room of The Mill Casino featuring the music of Soulpie, followed by High Street. Admission: $10 or $8 with All-Events Badge. From 2-5pm, Friday, March 8th, 3 youth Jazz bands from North Bend, Marshfield and the Myrtle Point High School and the Show Choir from Myrtle Point will be featured in the Salmon Room. Admission for this event will be FREE to the public. Then the professionals take over at three venues in The Mill and one at the Red Lion for a weekend full of a wide variety of music, from swing, doo-wop, blues, big band and Zydeco! Also, the traditional Sunday morning FREE non-denominational Gospel service returns, but in a new venue. It will be held in the Salmon room of The Mill, starting at 10:00 a.m., and will feature the music of High Street.

The event that is again expected to draw dancers and music enthusiasts from 12 different states & 60 Towns in Oregon including Roseburg, Eugene and Portland. The South Coast Clambake Jazz Festival has developed a reputation as a Northwest favorite! It’s much MORE than just jazz!
