Update On Human Remains Found In Port Orford

The human remains found at an address in an RV park have been determined to be male. The State Medical Examiner of Oregon conducted an autopsy on March 21st. The cause of death is still being investigated, but police say at this point the remains are that of a male victim. The Curry County Major Crime Team is continuing its investigating and attempting to identify the name of the victim in this incident.

On March 11th, the Port Orford Police Department was contacted by a citizen requesting law enforcement respond to 557 Ninth Street, the Anchor Inn RV Park, in regard to a human skull that had been unearthed during a site preparation. The Major Crime Team for Curry County was called to help with this investigation. On March 12th, the Major Crime Team removed human remains from 557 Ninth Street, Port Orford and transported to the medical examiner’s office to determine the deceased subject’s gender, identity and cause of death.
