Earth Day At Pony Creek

K-DOCK 92.9

The Coos Watershed Association will be hosting a clean-up and eco-car wash in honor of Earth Day. Students, families, and individuals of all ages are invited to help plant trees, care for existing native plants, pull invasive species, and remove litter. Volunteers will also paint stencils that say “Drains to Bay” on storm drains and will wash cars using a watershed-friendly practice that catches the sudsy water before it reaches the creek. The event will be on Saturday, April 20th from 9am to 1pm at Pony Creek, behind North Bend Schools. Volunteers should meet at the pedestrian bridge. Visit www.cooswatershed.org/events for more information.

The Coos Watershed Association is a local non-profit organization formed in 1994 as a way for people with a wide range of interests to get together and discuss the “big picture” of the conditions of the Coos watershed. The Association implements restoration, monitoring, and outreach projects throughout the Coos watershed with the goal of restoring and maintaining healthy, functioning systems. The Association also helps individual landowners decide how to manage and restore the watershed’s natural systems.
