Family Safety Program At Library

The Coos Bay Public Library is presenting “Better Safe Than Sorry!”, a safety education program presented by members Coos County Search and Rescue on Thursday, April 18th at 6:30pm. Members from the SAR team will offer tips on what to do if you get lost; how to help if someone else is lost, what to pack in your survival kit, and basic rules of survival. This family program will provide valuable safety information for wilderness and recreational activities, and day-to-day situations. They will also explain how they prepare for and conduct their searches. Several members of the SAR canine team will be on hand to demonstrate their special skills. Audience members will have a chance to meet the dogs and learn about their role in locating missing or injured people.

Coos County Search and Rescue is a group of well-trained volunteers
dedicated to providing safety education to the public, and
rapid-response emergency services for people who are lost, injured,
stranded, or in need of rescue. There is no charge for this
