Garden To Table Class In Myrtle Point
A new workshop called “Garden To Table” will be presented by the Coos County Master Food Preservers/Master Gardeners on Saturday, April 13th, from 10am to 2pm. This class will provide information on the steps you need to take your produce (mostly vegetables) from the seed stage to the table. It will cover the basics of planting and growing, what you can grow in a small space and containers, vermicomposting (making worms work for you), horizontal gardening, raised beds and more.
The workshop will also cover some year-round gardening tips, and what to do with what you’ve grown, how to cut down on waste by using and storing your produce wisely, and how to blanche, freeze or otherwise preserve the fruits of your labor.
