Pinwheel Planting To Raise Child Abuse Awareness

K-DOCK 92.9

The Child Abuse Intervention Center is holding their annual pinwheel planting today. Each of the 213 pinwheels that are planted will represent a Coos County child abuse case in 2012. Members of Coos County’s Multidisciplinary Team, which include the District Attorney, law enforcement, DHS and other agencies, will present information. They will explain the work being done to intervene in child abuse cases, support of the children and their families, and the identification and prosecution process required to make Coos County a safe place for children. The pinwheel planting begins at 12:30 this afternoon at 2590 Woodland Avenue in Coos Bay.
