IED’s discovered in Coos Bay Home – Neighborhood Evacuation Requested

This was the scene today Wednesday June 12, 2013 on Hull Street in Coos Bay.

FROM COOS BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT: While investigating a domestic violence report, officers from the Coos Bay Police Department learned of a cache of firearms, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices at 148 Hull Street, Coos Bay, Oregon.  While at the home, officers located items that they believed were likely improvised explosive devices and subsequently evacuated the home, set up a perimeter and contacted the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad, who are enroute to that location at this time.  Officers also closed Hull Street and notified the residents in the neighboring homes to suggest they also evacuate their residences as a precaution.
