SPECIAL BULLETIN – Dangerous Suspect – Request for Public Assistance
Jay Kenneth Yarbrough
Weight: 175 lbs.
While Yarbrough was in the hospital ICU for a medical condition, Yarbrough’s wife filed a report with Coos Bay Police Department alleging a domestic violence assault. Officers subsequently responded to Yarbrough’s residence to conduct an investigation. While there, officers located a hand-dug bunker under the home that contained restricted firearms, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and illegal narcotics. The home was evacuated and a perimeter was established until the OSP Explosives Unit could respond. Shortly after officers arrived at Yarbrough’s home, someone notified Yarbrough that law enforcement had been called to his home. He subsequently left the ICU unit despite medical advice not to do so and has not been seen since.
CBPD has probable cause for Yarbrough’s arrest related to the domestic violence assault, possession of restricted firearms, possession of explosive devices, and PCS I (methamphetamine). Yarbrough is aware police are searching for him. Yarbrough is known to be anti-government and may be armed. He may also be associated with a dark green Suburban, Oregon license #897FPD.
