Master Gardeners At Coos County Fair

K-DOCK 92.9

The Coos County Fair and Rodeo will again host the Coos County Master Gardener Association’s gardening information booth. The fair theme is “Barn in the USA”. The booth can be found in the floral building, the second year for the new location. Visitors to the fair can also view the Master Gardener Vegetable Garden outside of the floral building for ideas on growing vegetables in a raised bed. Master Gardeners will be available to help solve your gardening quandaries and all gardening conversations are welcome.

They have free drawings again this year with four beautiful gardening books to give away, as well as a ‘Pink Lemonade’ blueberry bush. In addition to their plant clinic and garden information booth, they are hosting demonstrations on a variety of topics during fair days. As gardeners, they love their “gardening pals” like chickens and ducks so a visitor to their demonstration area can learn “All About Eggs” and the benefits of raising both chickens and ducks.

Don’t miss the Garden Hat Making Table where kids can make some spectacular hats out of newspaper, ribbons, feathers and other decorations. Hat making is always a big hit with the kids. The Coos County Master Gardener booth is open from 11am to 7pm each fair day.
