Safe Boating/Swimming This Weekend

K-DOCK 92.9

This July 4th holiday weekend, thousands of people will enjoy boating and swimming. But, each year, approximately 500 people drown from recreational boating accidents, and 85 percent of drowning victims were not wearing a life jacket. The National Safe Boating Council increases awareness of the life-saving importance of wearing a life jacket, as part of the North American Safe Boating Campaign. The campaign focuses on spreading the message of boating safety and consistent life jacket wear.
