K-DOCK 92.9

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce will host the Wednesday Business Connection on October 23rd as it continues in its new 2013-2014 season. The featured speaker will be Alane Jennings, from Southwest Oregon Community College, talking about their CASE grant. CASE stands for Credential, Acceleration, and Support for Employment. The focus is to help Southwestern students overcome educational and occupational barriers toward acquiring the skills and credentials needed for high-wage and high-skilled jobs.

The WBC Luncheons in October are sponsored by Barrett Business Services. This WBC session will be held in the Salmon Room at the Mill Casino from 11:30am to 1pm, October 23rd. These luncheons are open to all who are interested in attending, but they ask you to contact the Chamber office at 541-266-0868 to ensure there is enough food prepared. Also remember, there are 5 minute presentation segments available for chamber businesses to introduce themselves and their products, prior to the featured presentation each week. If you are interested in one of these spots, contact the Chamber.

The mission of the WBC Forum committee is to provide an opportunity for business to network with each other, market products and expand their knowledge of the Bay Area business climate. The Forums focus on the positive aspects of doing business in Oregon’s Bay Area. Speakers and subject matter include new businesses moving to the area, business expansions, and issues or items that can impact your operations.
