North Bend School Community Invited To Nov. 6th Meeting

K-DOCK 92.9

After the series of reconfiguration meetings last spring, the North Bend School Board decided to look at the broader question of how students are doing academically across the district. The School Board would like to invite members of the North Bend School community to help identify barriers to success and to suggest possible solutions. The Board will be hosting a Community Conversation on Wednesday, November 6th at 6:30pm at North Bay Elementary.

There will be a brief presentation of student performance data followed by round table discussions addressing the following:

o What does a perfect North Bend School District look like?

o What barriers are there to achieving a perfect district?

o What alternatives should the board consider?

o What community assets might help address the barriers?

During the meeting, an area will be provided for participants to network and forms will be available to submit written suggestions.
For those unable to attend, a survey with these questions will be posted on the district website (www.nbend.k12.or.us) until November 15th. There will be a second round of conversations in February 2014 to consider recommended actions.
