Two men were injured in a flash explosion on Friday. The Coos County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting that an explosion had occurred on North Coos River Highway in a shop. Upon arrival on the scene the deputy reported two males were being treated on the ground by family members. 23 year-old Kyle Kaufman and 17 year-old Jacob Sweider both of Coos Bay were working on a Jeep when one of them lit a cutting torch and it ignited fumes in the shop and caused a flash explosion. Both victims were transported to Bay Area Hospital for treatment. There was no fire from the explosion.
