The Coos County OSU Extension Master Food Preserver volunteers are ready to help everyone get in a Valentine mood as they present a chocolate tasting workshop, “The Sweet Seduction of Chocolate,” on Saturday, February 8th, from 10am to 1pm.

Taught by registered dietitian Stephanie Polizzi, the class will cover the history of chocolate, health benefits, and some things to watch out for when buying and consuming chocolate. Participants will enjoy tasting a wide array of locally-available chocolate, to awaken their senses and please their palates. They’ll also learn how to get the most out of a small amount of fine chocolate, and enjoy creating a chocolate craft or gift item. And diabetics are welcome. The class will be held at the Coos County Extension Service in Myrtle Point. Cost is $15, and space is limited so phone registration is recommended. Call 541-572-5263, ext. 292 to reserve a seat.
