Coos County‘s Premiere Vocal Competition for Teens Opens 11th Season
 
Bay Area Teen Idol, Coos and Western Douglas Counties premiere vocal competition for teens kicks off its 11th season Thursday, July 10th at the historic Egyptian Theatre 229 S. Broadway Coos Bay.  Each contestant will perform their choice of music for the opening performance. The program will also feature songs performed by all contestants since auditions were held in May. 
 
This season features 14 contestants from Coos County schools that include Marshfield andNorth Bend High Schools, Sunset Middle School and North Bend Middle School.  Opening night’s featured performer is 2013 Bay Area Teen Idol winner Ally Putas. Admission is $3 dollars per person or $10 per family.  This is one of the first live performances to be held in the Egyptian Theatre since it re-opened last month following an extensive rehabilitation.
 
Bay Area Teen Idol is a drug, alcohol and tobacco free event for Coos and WesternDouglas County teens between the ages of 13 and 18.  It is underwritten by Coos County Health and Human Services, K-DOCK Radio, Giddings Boatworks, Banner Bank and Tarheel Aluminum.  Information is available online at www.bayareateenidol.com, Facebook or call Stephanie at (541)269-0929.
