Two Rescued From Capsized Boat

A Coos Bay man remains in a Portland hospital after the boat he was on capsized in the South Slough Estuary near Charleston. Coos County Sheriffs deputies responded to a call shortly after 6pm on June 30th and found three people in the water. 59-year-old Gary S. Dudley and 28-year-old Jarred F. Yokum of Coos Bay were rescued and taken to Bay Area Hospital. Dudley was later transferred to Oregon Health Sciences University. A 3rd man, 32-year-old Troy B. Davis of Myrtle Point was also rescued and later arrested for an alleged probation violation. The boat carrying the three men and a dog flipped over when two of the men changes places on the boat. Dudley was not wearing a life jacket.
