Its time for the 2011 Coos County Fair and Rodeo in Myrtle Point. Beginning in 1912, the Coos County Fair and Rodeo has become the main event of the Summer for Coos County residents and is a county-wide showcase of agriculture, crafts, industry and business. The Coos County Fair provides the opportunity for all ages, from young to seniors, to exhibit their livestock, floral, land products, culinary, needlework, photography, arts and crafts.

-WGAS Motorsports – Saturday Night 7PM, Extreme Motocross, Truck & Tractor Pulls plus local competition.

-Open Rodeo – Friday Night 7 PM, Bulls, Barrels & Team Roping. Kids events at 6:30 p.m.

-Matt Baker Comedy Stunt Show – Matt will perform great comedy and stunts on the main stage Wednesday through Saturday or you may catch him strolling the grounds.

-Texaco Country Showdown – Tuesday 7:00 p.m., Wednesday 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

-Bay Area Teen Idol – Elimination Round #2 Thursday 6:00 p.m. Presented by K-DOCK 92.9 FM Radio.

-Joyful Noize Christian Rock and Roll – Thursday following Bay Area Teen Idol.

-Rhythm Village African drumming and dancing – Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

-Timberwolf – On the Main Stage Friday and Saturday nights following main arena entertainment.

-Western Express Railroad – Enjoy a ride around the fairgrounds on their very own train!

-Babies and Ladies in Waiting – One of the twin calves born at last years’ fair will be returning this year.

-Coos County Community Tent – Provides a place for community members to share information throughout the week!

-Coos County Natural Resources Tent – OSU Forestry Extension, Coquille Watershed Assn., Coos Forest Protective Assn., Society of American Foresters, Oregon Dept. Of Forestry, Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and others with informative displays on the natural resources in our county.

-Apple Pie Contest – The winner gets a new range from Schroeder’s Home Furnishings.

-Coos Youth Livestock Auction – Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Celebrating 26 years of supporting the youth in Coos County!

-4-H and FFA Open Class exhibits.

-Coos County Fair and Rodeo Parade – Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
