All Girls Invited To Free “Cyberbully” Movie

The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon invites all girls, ages 13-18, to participate in their new program called Healthy Habits: Healthy Self Movie Night. This is a free movie night, sponsored by the Zonta Club of Coos Bay. It’s on Friday May 3rd from 6 to 9pm, at the Boys and Girls Club. Watch “Cyberbully” and learn about the effects of bullying and how to get help. A special guest speaker, Debbie Kirby, L.C.S.W., will open up discussion and answer questions. In addition, door prizes and food will be provided.

Healthy Habits-Healthy Self is an all-girls program, for teens 13-18, that focuses on important topics. Through girls’ group meetings, one-on-one mentoring sessions and enrichment activities, Healthy Habits: Healthy Self will provide young women with the skills to succeed in all areas of life, preparing them for their futures. Healthy Habits: Healthy Self will teach girls what it means to live a strong and healthy life by making smart choices. Discussion topics will include: bullying, relationships, college preparation, nutrition and physical activity, self-esteem and body image, financial literacy, career exploration in the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics and community involvement.
