American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better Coming To North Bend

The American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better is coming to North Bend in December. It is a two-hour, hands-on workshop for female cancer patients which includes a detailed description and demonstration of the 12-step skin care and makeup program. Also, instruction on options relating to hair loss, including wigs (types/care), turbans and scarves, nail care.
Helpful suggestions on clothing and ways to use flattering colors and shapes, and ways to camouflage areas of concern during cancer treatment. Each patient participating in a group workshop receives a free kit of cosmetics, donated by the cosmetic industry, to use to learn techniques during the program and take home! A group program typically includes 6 to 8 patients and is run by a volunteer licensed beauty professional.
Look Good Feel Better is free and salon and product neutral. All cosmetics used in the group program have been donated. Call 800-227-2345 to learn more. It will be held December 18th from 1 to 3pm at Bay Area Hospital, CHEC Building, 3950 Sherman Avenue in North Bend.
You qualify for the class if you are a women (age 18 or older) currently undergoing cancer treatment, about to undergo cancer treatment, or have recently completed cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, hormone therapy, or other forms of treatment). Only program participants may attend the workshop.
