Coos Bay Police are seeking the public’s help following what appears to be a foiled armed robbery in the Empire District of Coos Bay. Coos Bay Police Chief Gary McCullough says a gold and silver dealer had planned a meeting with a man at the Cranberry Sweets parking lot around 2pm this afternoon. When the suspect approached, he pulled a small caliber weapon and demanded all of his gold. The dealer sped away from the parking lot in his vehicle. McCullough said the suspect was tracked by Coos County K-9 Odin into the neighborhood to the south of the lot. The suspect was not located. Police are looking for a 5-foot 10-inch white male, approximately 25 years of age with dirty blonde or brown hair. He is about 160 pounds, was wearing a gray sweater and had tattoos on his neck. The suspect was tracked to an area on Michigan in the Empire District of Coos Bay. If you have any information, contact the Coos Bay Police Department (541) 269-8911.
