Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Issues Stance on Two Ballot Measures

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce released its endorsement and opposition of two ballots on the November Ballot. The business association has endorsed Measure 102  that they say will help local communities build affordable housing. In a press release, the current statewide amendment bans the ability of local governments to work with businesses and nonprofits to build affordable housing. The measure states local housing bond dollars would go farther without extra cost to the taxpayers. The chamber came out opposed to Measure 6-168 stating ending the North Bay Urban Renewal Agency on the North Spit would hinder economic development. The URA helps encourage infrastructure development and building redevelopment of existing and new businesses.
