Baycrest Village Assisted Living to Close by November 1st

North Bend-based Baycrest Village notified its residents this week that it will close its skilled nursing and assisted living facilities by November 1st. In a press release issued by the company, management indicated Baycrest Village will be working collaboratively with staff from the DHS Aging and People with Disabilities program to ensure that every current resident is provided support through the transition. The press release also stated Baycrest Health Center, Baycrest Assisted Care and the Department of Human Services will host resident and family meetings to discuss the closure process. The decision to close the facility, that has operated in North Bend since being built in 1957, was made because of an extended operating loss that could no longer be maintained. Baycrest’s independent living community, Evergreen Court, adjacent to the nursing facility will continue to operate and provide independent living services for seniors.

The skilled nursing facility, along with its other holding’s that includes an assisted living and alzheimer center, was operated by the Sister’s of Mercy before being sold to an Oregon-based company in 2002.
