Brookings Woman Killed Along Highway 199

Oregon State Police continue their investigation into Friday night’s single vehicle fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of an adult female and injury to the male driver along Highway 199. According to OSP on July 13th, a sport utility vehicle driven by 21-year-old Joshua J.Bartley, from Grants Pass, was northbound on Highway 199 when it traveled off the right side of the highway and collided into a tree. The passenger, 65-year-old Sharon Hope Bullis, from Brookings, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bartley was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were using seat belts, but Bullis had the shoulder harness improperly used. The vehicle’s airbags deployed. OSP is continuing the investigation.
