Bus wreck on Newmark in North Bend

The Coos County Crash team assembled this afternoon to investigate a collision between a Mid Columbia Bus, carrying students from the North Bend School District and a BMW. According to law enforcement on the scene at Newmark and Brussels, neither of the 2 high school students on the bus were injured in the crash. Superintendent BJ Hollinstiener says the students were transporated by another bus to their home or destination. The North Bend School District contracts with Mid Columbia for transportation of their students. The driver of the BMW, whose name has not been released, was taken by Ambulance to Bay Area Hospital. The Accident happened shortly after 2 this afternoon. Traffic was reduced to one lane on Newmark while the vehicles were removed from the scene. Traffic has also been slowed while investigators look into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Oregon State Police are the lead investigators on the scene.
