A candidate for Coos County Commissioner has been sentenced to serve 30 days in jail. Today Judge Martin Stone ordered Dale Pennie to serve 30 days for violating his probation by illegally maintaining a disposal site without a permit. Pennie is running against incumbent John Sweet on the May 15th ballot. Pennie was on probation since 2015. He was also under a court order to clean up his property located between Bandon and Coquille. Last month, he was found to be in violation of his probation for large amounts of junk and trash stored on the property. Pennie has already served a year in jail and was placed on probation for five years with the condition of cleaning up his property.
