Cape Arago Fall Victims Names Released


A mother and son are recovering after falling off a bluff at the South Cove at Cape Arago State Park. The two had reportedly slipped and fallen off the cliff while walking along the bluff south of the park. The mother, 51-year-old Audrey T. Lee, was reported to be clinging to the cliff by witnesses. She was rescued and taken by Coast Guard Helicopter for treatment of minor injuries. Her 18-year-old son James Lee, who also fell down the steep embankment, suffered multiple injuries including a head injury according to officials. The Coast Guard was one of multiple agencies involved in the rescue. Four local fire departments sent rope rescue crews. Also assisting in the rescue were Oregon State Police and Bay Cities Ambulance.
