CDABA Hosts Art Walk In Reedsport

The Coastal Douglas Arts & Business Alliance’s fourth annual Art Walk will be held on Friday, June 14th at 4pm and again on Saturday, June 15th in old town Reedsport along Highway 38. This event coincides with the Reedsport Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce’s annual International Chainsaw Carving Contest.

New to this year’s event will be a Kid’s Craft Corner, which will be a free event. All the materials and supplies will be provided for kids to assemble a wood craft that they can take home with them. The Kid’s Craft Corner will be open Saturday morning 10am to Noon. Also new this year will be the annual Photography Contest display. All of the entries in this final year of the Photography Contest to benefit the Library Renovation project will be on display at the Mindpower Gallery, 415 Fir Avenue (Hwy 38). More information about the photography contest and this year’s subject matters for the competition can be obtained from the Douglas County Library, Reedsport Branch (541-271-3500) or by checking out CDABA’s Facebook page. Deadline to submit photos in one of the sixteen categories is May 31st (during Library hours).

Calling all artists and crafters—if you are an artist or crafter who is interested in participating in this year’s Art Walk as an outside vendor—please contact Chris Adamson at 531-271-0313 to sign up for one of the free limited spaces. Plans are underway to make room for artists and crafters all along the Art Walk route. Everyone will be responsible for all their own needs, such as table and chairs, and will work directly with the public with regards to their art or products as this is an informal event and no fees or commissions will be imposed by CDABA.
