Celebrate Mother’s Day With Dancing

The next Greenacres Grange Barn Dance will be held on Saturday, May 11th, beginning at 7pm. New dancers are welcome. Local fiddlers and friends will play three hours of light-hearted social dancing. This is an open band of local musicians that gather together each year for a special night of lively dance music. The musicians will be joined by several local callers who will take turns calling fun dances. No prior knowledge, special clothing, or partner is needed to join the fun. A beginner’s workshop will be taught starting at 7pm. For first timers who arrive by 7pm the admission is $5 and they also receive a ticket for free admission to their second dance.

The monthly Barn Dance series is sponsored by the non-profit South Coast Folk Society. The program includes contras, circle mixers, a waltz or two, and squares. Refreshments are available. Doors open at 6:45pm. Admission: General $7, Students w/id and Seniors over 60 $6, Members and First Timers (by 7pm) $5, Supervised children under 6 free. The dances are alcohol and fragrance free.
