CFPA Announces End Of Fire Season

The Coos Forest Protective Association officially ended fire season on Wednesday, September 25th. Industrial fire precaution restrictions are no longer in effect and outdoor debris burning is now allowed without a permit outside incorporated cities in Coos, Curry and western Douglas County.

CFPA fire managers advise residents to still exercise caution when burning. This time of year, several days of sunshine and dry weather can create a fire risk even if a week or more of rainy, cool conditions precedes them. The only type of burning requiring a permit is for logging slash. To request a burn permit for slash disposal or if you have other general questions regarding debris burning, call your nearest CFPA office: Coos Bay 541-267-3161; Bridge 541-572-2796; Gold Beach 541-247-6241.
