City Administrators Discuss Structure and Urban Renewal

City administrators from Coos Bay and North Bend gave an overview of the structure of the city operations and urban renewal work that has changed the face of their communities. The presentation was made today at the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Wednesday Business Connection. City Administrator Terrance O’Conner said the city of North Bend has seen single family home investments of $59 million since 2005 and over $7 million in Urban Renewal investments.  The two managers cited several projects that have helped improve corridors along Highway 101 and Cape Arago Highway.  Those include investments in the Liberty Theatre, parking lots and sidewalks, the Oddfellows Building and North Bend Hotel.  In Coos Bay those Urban Renewal investments include the Egyptian Theatre, Northwest Fitness, Pre-Way and the Dolphin Playhouse to name just a few. The WBC is featuring a series of the lunchtime talks on various departments operating in the neighboring cities.  WBC attendees have now heard from City Administrators and Mayors.  Up next, they’ll learn about public works and police.
