Cookie Thief Apprehended

Coos Bay Police responded to an alarm trigger at the ESD building on Teakwood around 7:30 this morning. When police arrived a burglar was attempting to leave the building. Police apprehended the thief, 37-year old Jeffrey Smith from Gold Beach. Smith broke into the building by breaking a lock. He then used a pick axe to break into a warehouse room. where he allegedly stole a tray of cookies from a freezer. Smith is being held on $37,500 bail at the Coos County Jail.
